The Art of Traditional Olive Oil Soap-Making at Olivira

At Olivira, every bar begins with a process shaped by generations.

Our soaps are produced in a historic, family-run facility in Tripoli, Lebanon, where traditional olive oil soap-making methods have been preserved since the late 19th century.

Method Built on Simplicity

Each batch starts with a small number of carefully selected ingredients, combined and transformed through saponification (the essential process that turns oils into soap).

This method has remained largely unchanged over time, relying on patience, precision, and experience rather than speed or scale.

From Batch to Bar

Soap is prepared in large vats, then poured and set into a single slab. Once cured, it is cut into individual bars, with each one being shaped and finished by hand.

Because of this process, no two bars are exactly alike. Subtle variations in appearance and weight are a natural result of traditional production.

Cured Over Time

After cutting, the bars are left to dry and harden naturally. This extended curing process helps create a solid, long-lasting bar designed for everyday use.

Why It Matters

This approach isn’t about efficiency, it’s about preserving a method that has stood the test of time. Every bar reflects a traditional process, small-batch craftsmanship and a commitment to doing things with care.

Carrying Tradition Forward

Olivira was created to bring this process forward unchanged in its foundation, but thoughtfully introduced to a modern audience.

A simple product, made with intention.

Olivira — tradition, carried forward.
